The Last Jar is an Irish gastro pub located at the corner of Elizabeth and Queensberry streets. In the tradition of a country farmhouse, they make as much of the food as possible in house - churning butter, making bread, curing meats, and smoking and curing fish.
With a philosophy of minimising wastage and keeping true to the ingredients they use, their pub grub portions are generous and the menu is seasonal - there is typical Irish fare such as soda bread, black pudding, and Irish meat platter, as well as classic pub dishes such as fish and chips and chicken parma.
The beers and wines have been chosen to complement the traditional farmhouse cooking, with a focus on local producers. And after dinner treat yourself to a whiskey from their extensive Irish whisky list.
