Thelma Post (June Squibb) is a nonagenarian grandmother keen to hold on to her independence. After a scam phone caller swindles her out of ten thousand dollars, Thelma sets out on a treacherous quest across Los Angeles, accompanied by an ageing friend and his motorised scooter to reclaim what was taken from her.
Directed by Josh Margolin and inspired by the real-life experience of his own grandmother, this is an hilarious rollercoaster ride with one of cinema's most endearing action stars at the helm. Academy Award-nominee June Squibb ('Nebraska)' leads an ingeniously cast ensemble including Parker Posey, Fred Hechinger and Richard Roundtree best known for his genre-defining performance in Shaft, appearing here in his final role.
Thelma premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January and has been winning hearts at festivals around the world ever since.
