Tattoo Show

  • Theatre
  • Entertainment

Each night, a volunteer from the audience is asked to be interviewed, then inked on stage.

Moments of performance sit within a guided conversation between the Rawcus Ensemble, the volunteer and a tattoo artist. From this conversation a bespoke tattoo is designed as a carefully crafted gift, and memorial of their evening together. The volunteer has no input into what the design is, but can choose where it’s placed.

Tattoo Show is simultaneously heartwarming and unorthodox, high art and low art. It examines themes of trust, taboos and memory in an accessible night out with permanent repercussions.

Part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival.
