Sketch the City Walking Tours

  • Free
  • Workshop

In this walking tour you’ll rediscover Melbourne’s city centre while learning how to sketch from scratch.

Urban sketching is creating quick sketches while on location. It’s about the essence of the moment and the fun of the process. These sketches fill notebooks, along with comments and thoughts about the places visited, and can become a beautiful memory log of our trips.

Sketching or drawing can be very beneficial for your mental health as a way of de-stressing. It's very useful to transfer thoughts and emotions onto paper and to explain concepts visually.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
