Experimental artist Sammaneh Pourshafighi invites you to celebrate sound, community and hospitality of South West Asian, North African (SWANA) diaspora. The pavilion will be transformed with artworks, layered textiles and soundscapes.

Drop by MPavilion Parkville each day to savour tea rituals, poetry, music and dance!

Tuesday 9 September, 11am to 3pm: Slow Open and Sips
The Persian Tea House will offer a space for poetry, rest and reflection.

Wednesday 10 September, 11am to 3pm: Speak and Steep
Drop in to hear a discussion on politics of music and diasporic joy, and stay for delicious Persian food and sweets. Bring a favourite poem to share with others, or write one on the spot.

Thursday 11 September, 11am to 3pm: The Spins
SWANA Daytime Club will centre queer diasporic joy on the dance floor. Expect Turkish disco, retro Iranian bangers and Arabic beats for all generations.
