Chinese Scent Workshop: A Journey of Sensing

  • Art
  • Workshop

This sensory workshop invites you to relax and reconnect with your authentic self through the sense of smell.

The session begins with a live incense demonstration, where you will experience xingxiang (walking incense) and the passing of the censer. Surrounded by gentle fragrance, you will learn to synchronise your breath and enter a calm, meditative state.

Next, you will explore smoke-free incense appreciation, using abdominal breathing to sense the subtle layers of fragrance while hearing stories about the history, culture and meaning of incense.

Finally, you will create your own aromatic pouch, blending Yin-Yang philosophy and the Five Elements theory with Eastern and Western scent traditions, and take home a unique, handcrafted piece infused with aroma and memory.
