Nature Journaling Workshop

  • Talk
  • Workshop

This two-hour beginner workshop explores the surrounds of Plant Craft Cottage, through the senses and science of nature journaling. Your instructor Kathleen provides a guided nature-based mindfulness practice focusing on sanctuary and then will assist you to capture some of the collection’s beauty, including fractals (repeating patterns) and the play of shadow and light (known as komorebi in Japan) on your pages.

All levels of experience are welcome and all supplies for the session are provided, including coloured pencils and watercolour pencils.

Dr Kathleen Bagot is a certified nature journaling educator. She has studied nature connection and the benefits of spending time in nature for adults and children, earning a PhD in Environmental Psychology, and is a certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide and mindfulness facilitator.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.
