John Cain Arena

Opened in 2000, this $65 million arena was developed as a flexible, multipurpose venue.

The venue is notably acclaimed for hosting the Australian Open, as well as Melbourne’s most celebrated sport and entertainment events.

A 250m cycling track, retractable seating and configurable floor plan allow the venue to host a range of events while ensuring crowds remain close to the action. It regularly hosts basketball, netball and live performances.

John Cain Arena is also home to Melbourne United and South East Melbourne Phoenix (Basketball), as well as the Melbourne Vixens (Netball).
