Isabella Box: Sealed to Prevent Tampering

  • Comedy
  • Entertainment

Making its world premiere at Melbourne Fringe, Sealed to Prevent Tampering is a one-woman cabaret-comedy about Isabella Box, a hyper-femme drag queen who locks herself inside a museum after discovering her toxic boyfriend Max Hunt’s manipulation. Trapped, she becomes an accidental performance art sensation – dubbed 'the dead cat in the box' – while her self-discovery unfolds under Max’s shadow and the public eye.

A woman of grace, grit and glitter, Isabella sings, dances and laughs her way beyond constraints. But creator Zo Star keeps appearing, blurring the line between performer and character: is she saving Isabella from her demons or hijacking the show to play with the audience?

For anyone who’s been love-bombed, ghosted or gaslit, this wild, hilarious and deeply human ride blends character comedy, physical humour and fearless storytelling with Zo Star’s signature mix of hilarity and heart.

Part of Melbourne Fringe Festival.
