Come along for an extraordinary afternoon of music on the eve of the Shrine’s 90th anniversary to commemorate Victoria’s iconic memorial. This unique concert will transport you back to the 1934 Dedication of the Shrine, blending past and present.
Featuring the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Chorus, led by MSO Chorus director Warren Trevelyan-Jones, and the Royal Australian Navy Band Melbourne, led by Lieutenant Commander Brian O’Kane, you’ll hear the evocative music performed at the Dedication alongside other moving pieces.
After the concert, stay for the powerful Last Post Service. As part of this special service, descendants of the Shrine’s original architects will lay wreaths to honour their legacy.
This family-friendly event is a rare opportunity to connect with history, culture and community in the heart of Melbourne. This outdoor event is held on the Shrine steps. Seating is limited and available on a first-come basis. Stay tuned to our social media for updates.
