The Film Society of Chinese Australian Inc. (FSOCA) is hosting a four-week classic film screening series on Sundays at Cinema Nova, showcasing a range of work from the internationally acclaimed director/writer duo Clara Law and Eddie Fong.

Each screening is followed by a talk with Clara Law and Eddie Fong, delving into the philosophy behind their arthouse filmmaking. Join the discourse about cinematic legacy, cultural dialogue, and the crucial support needed for independent filmmaking. All proceeds from the screening directly support the FSOCA’s independent art film projects and foster new voices.

29 June: Floating Life
Talk: Setting off with nothing, the origin and the potential of FSOCA.

6 July: Farewell China
Talk: Displacement and culture, consolidating the wisdom of Chinese culture when in drifting.

13 July: Autumn Moon
Talk: Film as an artform, Chinese aesthetics in film.

20 July: Drifting Petals.
Talk: DIY filmmaking and independence, FSOCA and art films.
