We're All Just Trying Our Best

Rising stars Patrick Lenton, Sashi Perera and Sinéad Stubbins come together to talk comedy, tragedy and the millennial condition, with host Brodie Lancaster.

Ask any millennial: life is hard. The defining characteristics of the generation? Existential dread, ironic detachment, a creeping sense of meaninglessness and being adrift in a world that promised more.

Sounds bleak, doesn’t it? Leave it to three brilliant and astutely funny authors to tackle millennial malaise with a sense of humour. In this panel, hear from Patrick Lenton, whose new book In Spite of You is the queer revenge rom-com you’ve been waiting for; Sashi Perera, author of the all-too-relatable coming-of-age-absurdly-late memoir Standstill; and Sinéad Stubbins, whose debut novel Stinkbug is part millennial fever dream, part searing workplace satire set in the confines of a corporate retreat.

Hosted by Brodie Lancaster, this session digs into the secret lives of a generation who are just trying to do their best.
