Tracey Lee Holmes: A Life Through Sport

  • Talk
  • Events

In this honest, intimate and fearless discussion, journalist and broadcaster Tracey Lee Holmes reflects on her trailblazing career and remarkable life in sport.

For more than 30 years, Tracey Lee Holmes has been a pioneering voice in Australian broadcasting, as the first female host of a national sports program and as an advocate for gender equality in sport.

Now, in celebration of her new book The Eye of the Dragonfly: My Life Seeing the World Through Sport, she reflects on the way sport can highlight the nobility of the human spirit or ruthlessly reveal its flaws – and the lessons that have seen her through an extraordinary career reporting it all.

A keen observer of the interactions between sport, politics and society, Holmes joins Shelley Ware to share the thrilling stories of athletes in exultation and defeat, and shed light on the larger forces of money, power and discrimination which shape the games to which she has devoted much of her life.
