Carolyn Roberts' new exhibition explores humanity's relationships with nature through watercolour paint.
Roberts works in watercolour for its immediacy and translucency, to construct a visual narrative, which asks questions concerning humankind’s sense of place and relationship to the natural world. This body of work is a close, personal observation of life in two very different gardens, located on opposite sides of the world. In each, the human inhabitants strive to co-exist with nature.
Drawing from the immediate environment, and inserting human elements such as poetry and music, Roberts has constructed an intricate tangle of life.
