From ancient plays at the Theatre of Dionysus to Hollywood classics at Cine Thisio, open-air theatres are a longstanding and much-loved Greek tradition. At its annual Summer Cinema, the Hellenic Museum brings a slice of this great pastime to Melbourne.
Over three Friday nights in February, the Museum's leafy courtyard will come to life with classic films, movie snacks and authentic Greek food by special guest caterers: The Pontian Club's cult following pop-up kitchen.
This year's films:
Friday 7 February: The Underdog (1960)
Friday 14 February: Marijuana Stop! (1971)
Friday 21 February: Madalena (1960)
