Second World War Memorial Concert

  • Music
  • Entertainment

Join a special preview of the Second World War Memorial, a powerful commemorative concert marking 80 years since the end of the Second World War.

This is the sixth in a series of seven war requiems by acclaimed Director Chris Latham OAM, musical artist-in-residence at the Australian War Memorial. It brings to life the voices of those who served – both abroad and on the home front – through recovered wartime compositions and contemporary interpretations.

What to expect:
- An overview of the work by Chris Latham, including insights into the creative process, historical influences, and the role of music in remembrance.
- Preview recordings of commissioned works as well as period works responding to the war by Australian and international composers.
- An opportunity to give feedback that will assist with the fine tuning and calibration of the final concert.
- The preview will run over 90 minutes with time for questions and comments at the end.
