Reworlding City North

Cardigan Street closes for a weekend of urban play to reworld the neighbourhood.

Step into the year 2050, where Naarm Melbourne has become a sprawling megacity grappling with climate crisis, social change, and evolving technologies. Cardigan Street is remapped via Boon Wurrung knowledge and language, transforming the street into an urban commons for learning with place

In this urban LARP (live action role play), climate fiction meets urban adventure at a street party.

Join factions, gather resources, solve puzzles, encounter characters, and work together on creative solutions to regenerate the city during a climate emergency. Reworlding is playful and imaginative, both speculative and deeply connected to place. It embraces climate action for collective change, do-it-together skills, and community building to ask the question: when one world collapses, how do we build a new world together?

Who will we be in 2050? Could Melbourne survive as a megacity?

Play to find out.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.
