Playbound is a 16-day family festival taking over the City of Melbourne during the winter school holidays. Designed for children aged 0 to 12, the program features a vibrant mix of performances, workshops, exhibitions, crafts and activities.

The festival invites children to explore the world through joyful, interactive experiences grounded in Playbound’s pillars of play, nature, science and imagination. Championing the value of play-based learning, the program supports children’s development while sparking curiosity, wonder, and meaningful moments of connection for kids and their families. With fun at its core, Playbound offers something for every family seeking playful adventures during the holidays.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
