The Nike Melbourne Marathon Festival returns this October but is already at capacity.

Thousands of participants from far and wide will take part in five distances, from 2.5km to the full 42.195km, each starting on Batman Avenue (150m north of Rod Laver Arena), and finishing with a lap of honour around the MCG’s hallowed turf.

Welcoming runners of all ages, abilities, and experience levels, the five distances include the Nike Melbourne Marathon (42.195km), Nike Wheelchair Marathon (42.195km), Nike Half Marathon (21.1km), SriLankan Airlines10km Run, Dairy Farmers 5km Run, and the Chobani Fit Walk (2.5km).

Beginning in 1978, the event has grown to become a staple in the Melbourne sporting calendar and registrations quickly sell out.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.
