Kinusaiga: Japanese Fabric Collages

  • Workshop
  • Events

Kinusaiga is a striking Japanese textile art that puts even the smallest scraps of fabric to use. It’s part collage, part applique, part patchwork, but requires no sewing.

Rather than sewing your design is cut into a thick backing board and fabric is then pressed into these cuts and pulled taut creating 3D artworks that really pop.

This class will cover the recent history of Kinusaiga, tools and materials, creating designs, tips and tricks and finishing touches.

Come along and try something new. All materials provided, but feel free to bring along any fabrics scraps.
