Italian Cinema Forum: Good Morning, Night

  • Free
  • Film

This workshop with Dr Mark Nicholls discusses Good Morning, Night (2003), the second of Marco Bellocchio’s three screen treatments on the 1978 kidnapping and assassination of senior Italian politician and former Prime Minister, Aldo Moro. In his haunting and fantastical film, Bellocchio focuses on the brutal, dispiriting and bizarre aspects of the Moro Case from the perspective of one of the kidnappers, Chiara (Maya Sansa).

Clips will be shown as a basis for group discussion.

Dr Mark Nicholls is Senior Lecturer in Cinema Studies at the University of Melbourne, where he has taught film since 1993. Mark has worked as a film journalist for ABC Radio and The Age, and has a list of over twenty stage credits as a playwright, performer, producer, and director.
