Evenings with DADo offer an intimate commingling of film and conversation at Walsh Street.
Join for a screening of Lewerentz Divine Darkness. Prior to the screening, there will be a short pre-recorded introduction by director Sven Blume.
Sigurd Lewerentz is one of Sweden’s most regarded architects, considered a master of the profession internationally. His output was small, but his unique solutions were decades ahead of their time. Lewerentz, like his buildings, is surrounded by a mysterious, indefinable aura.
But in a root cellar in Lund, there is an unknown treasure. Stored here are film reels and audio tapes recorded by the architect Bernt Nyberg, capturing Lewerentz during his last years. From the cellar, a cultural-historical journey begins, where the stylistic traces of Lewerentz within Nordic architecture become palpable. Classicism and modernism converge in a poetic brutality that awakens our deepest cultural memories.
