Flinders Lane is delighted to showcase a new series of works by guest artist, Christopher Kerley, who first showed with the gallery in 2024 as part of the emerging artist exhibition, Exploration 24.
Christopher Kerley’s quietly charged landscape paintings explore the emotional undercurrents of everyday scenes, where domestic interiors and suburban streets become sites of psychological inquiry. Working from his base in Naarm/Melbourne, Kerley uses light, shadow, and altered perspective to evoke feelings of memory, grief, and dislocation. Forms appear and disappear; objects are stripped away or reimagined. His process is intuitive, allowing each image to emerge slowly, shaped as much by feeling as by form. Whether depicting the hush of a sunlit room or the eerie stillness of an empty street, his work captures the lingering presence of absence, and the poetry of places half-remembered.
