Caught In Between

On the 10th anniversary of her family’s migration from Malaysia to Australia, actor and theatre maker Dani reflects on her cultural identity and what it means to be ‘Asian-Australian’.

Centreing around Dani’s personal experiences, Caught In Between is a multi-disciplinary theatre work exploring the possibility of existing within two worlds at once, and the complexities of being a migrant.

Blending original soundscapes, large video projections and live interactive storytelling, this immersive experience blurs the line between her Malaysian and Australian upbringing. Audience members become active participants in this journey, travelling through memories, objects, and time. Through this, they will uncover emotions, challenges, and decisions that shape the lives of migrants.
