Bonegilla: The Migrant's Journey

  • Film
  • Music

The documentary film, Bonegilla: The Migrant's Journey features first-hand interviews filmed with people from various European countries, as well as former migrants' own photographs and videos. Immersive sound design complements their touching stories, and live piano and violin accompany this screening.

The migrants tell of their war experiences, why they wanted to travel to the other side of the world and how they fared in their newly adopted country. At times it’s tragic, disheartening and racist, but ultimately, it’s a feel-good story of gutsy and inspirational people who helped create the backbone of Australian society.

Screening as part of the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival.
