Australia Day Open Day at Government House

Australia Day 2025 will start with a flag-raising ceremony at Government House and a 21-gun salute at the Shrine of Remembrance.

At Government House, you can explore the grounds and State Apartments, picnic on the Western Lawn, and enjoy a variety of roving performers.

Royal Australian Air Force aircraft will fly over in the skies above, visible from Government House, Federation Square and the Shrine of Remembrance.

At Fed Square, an all-day program of free family-friendly activities beginning at 10am will include viral sensation DJ Lenny Pearce, the Junkyard Beats, hands-on craft activities, free food and drinks, and a live broadcast of the Australian Open men's final on the big screen from 6pm.
