Buddha's Day and Multicultural Festival
The three-day-long Buddha’s Day and Multicultural Festival returns to Golden Square Car Park, bringing together arts, culture, and mindfulness in Melbourne's city centre.
Kick off the weekend on Friday from 6.30pm with a breathtaking opening ceremony, featuring captivating cultural performances, traditional Buddhist rituals, and inspiring guest speakers. Watch the festival and the five-storey-high Bodhi Tree Mural come alive as it celebrates Buddha's birthday.
Across the weekend immerse yourself in free activities - Ba Duan Jin meditation, calligraphy workshops, tea ceremonies, dance workshops, multicultural performances, or step into the Mindfulness Forest, where creativity meets tranquillity, wander through the Lumbini Garden, a peaceful oasis inspired by Buddha’s birthplace and take part in the bathing of the Buddha.
Families and children can discover the life of Buddha through engaging puppet shows, enjoy arts and crafts, and dive into a world of creativity and wonder.
