A Conversation with Plants: Eco-Dyeing Workshop

  • Free
  • Family and kids

In this creative session you’ll use natural materials and boiling plant matter to dye paper in vibrant, unpredictable ways.

Reflect on your wishes and intentions, then create hand-crafted ceremonial shrouds – bundles of illustrated and written hopes pressed with petals, leaves and stems. As the colours and shapes of the plants transfer onto paper, your unique bundle of wishes will emerge – an artwork grounded in care, curiosity and nature’s quiet wisdom.

By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a hand-dyed bundle imprinted with the delicate traces of your ideas and the natural world.

All materials will be provided. No experience is needed, just bring something you’d like to wish for.

For ages 16 to 25 years only.

This workshop is delivered in partnership with Queerspace Youth and is for LGBTQIA+ and questioning young people, and their allies (aged 16 to 25 only).
