Max Watt's is a live music venue set below street level on Swanston Street opposite the Melbourne Town Hall. Since 1997, the venue formerly known as the Hi-Fi Melbourne has hosted famous Australian rock acts such as Paul Kelly, Powderfinger, Hunters and Collectors, Birds of Tokyo, Hoodoo Gurus and You Am I.
The venue has broken fresh ground by hosting newer acts such as Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros, OFWGKTA, The Jezabels, Art Vs Science and Laura Marling.
This 850-capacity underground venue also hosts the Melbourne International Comedy Festival's Festival Club, where local and international artists unleash their spontaneous genius to create nights of diverse comedy and unpredictable one-off performances.
