Mabu Mabu - Big Esso
This Indigenous owned and run bar and kitchen brings First Nations' food and good times to Naarm (Melbourne).
Created by Torres Strait Islander chef Nornie Bero, Big Esso is a place to meet friends and strangers. Grab a seat at the communal tables and have a yarn with the people either side of you. Tune into ‘Island Radio’ featuring blak musicians and Australian classics. And order a drink from a list of Indigenous owned and social impact businesses.
‘Big Esso’ means ‘the biggest thank you.’ It is an acknowledgement of Elders and the community who have kept this culture alive. This includes chef Nornie's cultural heritage: the Komet Tribe of the Meriam People of Mer Island in the Torres Strait.
