Star Stories: Ancient Astronomy Workshop

  • Family and kids
  • Workshop

These winter holidays, come on a journey across the night sky at Star Stories!

In this ancient astronomy workshop, young adventurers will explore time and space to discover the stories and histories behind the constellations, including their hidden myths, monsters and heroes. Come up close with artefacts in the Hellenic Museum collection, and even handle some objects over 2,000 years old!

Then, participants will complete a 'make-and-take' activity, creating a constellation from glow-in-the-dark materials and constructing their very own planisphere – a device used by astronomers for centuries – that will aid young explorers to continue finding constellations in the night sky once they return home.

This workshop is ideal for ages 4–8, and has English and Greek language sessions available.
