In his first solo exhibition, Melbourne artist Scott McKernan presents a collection of varied stipplings crafted during the pandemic. His fine dot art is created with black pigments in the traditional Renaissance style but adapted to the ordinary textures of everyday objects that somehow transform them into the extraordinary.
McKernan uses an absence of ink to convey a presence of light, cleverly graduating fine black dots to articulate the many nuances that depict all sorts of textures, from wet to dry and rough to soft.
Peruse these beautiful detailed works over a glass or two of fine wine.
