Like the paintings in Heather Fairnie’s 'elusive synthesis project (esp)' exhibition, there are many layers to the ongoing evolution of her research and studio practice.
Research motivates artist Heather Fairnie to explore unique regional landscapes of contrasting diversity, often found by chance driving down unknown clay roads, spending days, sometimes months experiencing 'being in place'; as connected. Witness to equinox, the seasons play across terrain and phenomenon of timelessness. The architecture of trees all around.
Heather’s love of 'being in place'and the science of the monochrome are the essence of the artist’s ongoing research as the 'elusive synthesis project (esp)'.
