Little Landscapes

Bring nature’s wonders to life in a tiny, colourful world of your own.

These winter school holidays, dive into two miniature worlds at Melbourne Museum. Explore the ancient volcanic plains of Australia, where creatures like the Diprotodon and Thylacoleo once roamed, or immerse yourself in the vibrant life of a coral reef, home to delicate nudibranchs, pygmy seahorses and colourful anemones.

In this creative crafting activity, kids will create dioramas that connect them with the wonders of the natural world – both past and present. Whether you’re placing prehistoric megafauna on the rugged plains or vibrant marine life amidst the coral, experience the magic of two very different ecosystems.
