String Bean Alley becomes a vibrant Mexican street with papel picado banners overhead — a photogenic spot you can’t miss!
Get ready to celebrate, remember, and share! Bring your favourite memories, photos, and stories to their Day of the Dead Community Altar — a vibrant space to honour those we’ve lost and celebrate life with the community.
Bring a framed photo or small object (shoebox size or smaller) representing your loved ones, such as sugar skulls or unlit candles. For multiple items, please pack them in a bag. Drop off your items at La Calavera during their opening hours (Thu-Fri: 9am-3pm, Sat-Sun: 9am-4pm) from 12 October to 1 November. Make sure all personal items are clearly labeled with your name and contact details.
Return to join the celebration on 2 November. The vibrant altar will light up String Bean Alley with live music, a stunning Catrina exhibit, cultural talks, and a photo station. Don’t forget to dress in your Day of the Dead best.
