David Drury: Improvising to the Hunchback of Notre Dame
Join David Drury as he improvises to the 1939 film of the Hunchback of Notre Dame, in the Chapel of Trinity College, which provides stunning architecture and acoustics, making this setting a perfect match for the film's gothic nature and Parisian setting.
David Drury is a distinguished Australian organist, choral conductor, and composer, known for his performances across Europe, North America and Australasia, and as the only Australian to win the Tournemire Prize for improvisation. He has held key music roles at Christ Church St Laurence, St James’ King Street, and St Paul’s College, and has recorded four solo compact discs and appeared on numerous recordings with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. He continues to perform and record widely while serving as Director of Music Emeritus at St Paul’s College, University of Sydney.
