DanceX

  • Entertainment

DanceX invites you to shape your own festival at Arts Centre Melbourne.

In Week 1 at the Playhouse Theatre, see Te Ao Mārama by Royal New Zealand Ballet, Allegro Brillante by The Australian Ballet and The Australian Ballet School, Restless Dance Theatre’s Seeing Through Darkness, Lucy Guerin’s Ground Control with The Australian Ballet and an excerpt of Dancenorth Australia’s Wayfinder — all in one performance.

Week 2 brings Bangarra Dance Theatre’s Yuldea (excerpts), a new work by Tim Harbour for The Australian Ballet, West Australian Ballet’s Extension to Boom and Stephanie Lake Company’s Auto Cannibal. Across other Arts Centre Melbourne stages, discover stand-alone works that push ideas further: the raw power of Flesh Vessel, the intimate The Other Side of Me, the provocative Wet Hard Long and the playful Dream Swamp for children.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
