Vamos Wednesday: Language Exchange

  • Activity
  • Community

Every Wednesday night at Encanto, people from around the world gather together for a vibrant night of conversation, culture and connection.

Whether you're practising Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese – or just want to meet people from different backgrounds – Vamos Wednesdays is for you. No pressure, no formal lessons, just good vibes, cold drinks, and great chats.

When you arrive, grab a drink at the bar and head to the flag desk. Show your ticket, tell the organisers what languages you speak or want to practise, and get your flag stickers. Your native language goes on the right, the rest follow in order of ability. It’s an easy way to connect with others at your level or beyond.

Over 150 flags, endless conversations and a welcoming community every week.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
