James Farrar, an adopted Korean male living in Australia, and Patricia Agus, a Filipino Immigrant raised away from family and in a culturally different environment, share a nuanced and complex relationship with their sense of self and cultural heritage.
This exhibition serves as tangible reflections of their personal journey, shaped by diverse interactions, experiences, and upbringing. Despite both originating from Asian backgrounds and being raised in Australia, Farrar and Agus find themselves too far removed from their cultural roots and yet not fully integrating with Australian culture.
Embracing and understanding this intersection of identities lies at the core of their artistic endeavours. This exhibitions presents two distinct narratives of a shared experience, representing different stages in our personal growth and understanding.
