Nongkrong is a non-for-profit arts festival celebrating Australian-Indonesian culture, curated by a network of Australian-Indonesians. Nongkrong translates to ‘hanging out’, the intentional, open-ended time spent with others.
Nongkrong's events creatively explore and celebrate the Indonesian diaspora's in-between identities through food, arts and dialogue. Hosting eight events over two weeks under the festival theme Roots and Routes, Nongkrong embraces the roots that anchor the diaspora to its ancestry and the routes that shape diverse experiences and imaginings of the future.
