  • Landmark

Open since 2001 and attracting around 500,000 visitors each year, the Melbourne Sports Centres - Parkville is Victoria’s leading netball and hockey facility. Located in Royal Park next to the Melbourne Zoo, it is a popular choice for international events and has hosted and continues to play host to a huge range of high-profile local and international sporting events and conferences each year.

In 2006, it was a host venue for the Commonwealth Games. The centre has also hosted cheerleading championships, the Harlem Globetrotters and, in 2009 and 2012, the prestigious ABN AMRO Men’s Hockey Trophy Championship.

The centre boasts a number of state-of-the-art facilities, including: an indoor stadium with permanent seating for 1800 and a maximum capacity of 3050; an indoor secondary hall features three sprung-floor netball courts; four permanent outdoor netball courts; and two world-class hockey pitches, recognised by the International Hockey Federation as being of international standard.
