Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio

MESS is a unique not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting the creation of electronic sound and music in all its forms.

Founded by artists Robin Fox and Byron J Scullin and housed within the Meat Market arts precinct, the heart of MESS is the MESS Studio, a fully functioning sound production workshop representing one of the most unique, eclectic and historically significant collections of electronic instruments in the world.

MESS's mission is to allow everyone access to electronic sound and music culture. Book a session at the studio and create and record your own electronic sounds, visit and tour the expansive collection, join a workshop or course to kick-start your synth journey or develop your skills, attend a live show or artist talk featuring local, national and international artists.

MESS reflects the history of electronic sound, supporting those currently involved in creation, as well as ensuring and encouraging its vibrancy, diversity and legacy into the future.
