Step into the shoes of Jacques as he journeys through the seven ages of man, brought vividly to life by the iconic characters of Commedia dell’Arte, in a bold reimagining of Shakespeare’s timeless monologue from As You Like It.
'All the world's a stage, and all the people in it merely players; They have their exits and their entrances, and one man in his time plays many parts—his acts being seven ages'.
The Infant. The Whining Schoolboy. The Lover. The Soldier. The Justice. The Pantaloon. Second Childishness...Oblivion.
This highly physical and theatrical solo show explores themes of masculinity, identity, love, loss, and the bittersweet nature of life. It strikes a delicate balance between humour and pathos, inviting you to laugh, reflect, and recognise a part of yourself in each age.
Created and performed by Scott Middleton, and part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival.
