In the second instalment of Science Gallery Melbourne’s Friday Night Socials, Yandell Walton is teaming up with Harrison Hall to live experiment with technology that merges live performers with virtual plant life. Using motion capture, photogrammetry and digital communication networks (DMX) the work blurs the boundaries between actual and virtual space and human and plant bodies to explore understandings of the natural world in the Synthetic Age. This will be a visual feast and an innovative example of pushing technology in a new direction.
As well as the headliner, there will also be a live set from Dj Huntress, late night exhibition viewing of NOT NATURAL, roaming performance art from Snuff Puppets, and of course, food and drink.
