Campbell Arcade

  • Landmark
  • Arcade

Campbell Arcade and the Degraves Street Underpass are currently closed due to construction of the Metro Tunnel Project. It will reopen in 2024, connecting to a new pedestrian underpass.

Dating from 1956, Campbell Arcade connects Degraves Street with Flinders Street Station and over the years has been home to a unique mix of independent retail stores, coffee shops and public art displays.

The construction plan will allow almost all of the heritage features of Campbell Arcade to be retained, including the 1950s curved tile walls, granite columns and display windows.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection they have maintained to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We accept the invitation in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and are committed to walking together to build a better future. For more information, visit Aboriginal Melbourne.
