Barring Yanabul

The 2025 iteration of Barring Yanabul cracks open the heart of Narrm/Melbourne, setting streets and laneways alight with installations, visual arts, music, drag, dance and maybe… something you’ve never ever seen before.

As the sun falls, First Nations creatives move through the city, breaking away from colonial constructs to give the stories of now back to country, to the lands that have held them for over 80,000 years.

The event will be held across various locations with performances at the Victoria Hotel (215 Little Collins St), RMIT Design Archives Window Gallery (154 Victoria St), Royal Lane (between Lt Collins and Bourke St), Checker Box (corner of Swanston and Little Collins St) and Bourke Street Mall.
