The multi award-winning musical Once will make its long-awaited return to Melbourne, opening at the Comedy Theatre this May for a strictly limited season.

An enchanting tale of a Dublin street musician about to give up on his dreams when a beautiful young Czech woman takes a sudden interest in his music. It is an unforgettable story about reaching for your dreams and the power of music to connect us all.

With a cast who each play their own instruments on stage and bring the soaring score to life, including ‘Falling Slowly’, the Oscar-winning song from the original film, this spellbinding musical will have you holding your breath from beginning to end.

Once is the only Broadway show with music that has won an Academy Award, Grammy Award, Olivier Award and Tony Award, including Best Musical.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong Boon Wurrung peoples of the Eastern Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past, present and emerging.

We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection the Wurundjeri, Bunurong, Dja Dja Wurrung, Taungurung and Wadawurrung peoples of the Eastern Kulin have to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We are committed to our reconciliation journey, because at its heart, reconciliation is about strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal peoples, for the benefit of all Victorians.
