Contemplate the importance of solitude through contemporary art.
Nightshifts is a contemplative new group exhibition that considers the importance of solitude through contemporary arts practice. Drawing from the Michael Buxton and the University of Melbourne Collections, the exhibition looks to the ‘after hours’ as a metaphor to explore the restorative qualities of rest, privacy and temporary seclusion from peers and public. Spanning a range of themes, histories and media, the exhibition offers a meditative counterpoint to the recurring emphasis on collaboration and hyper-visibility in contemporary practice.
On Sunday 24 September, 1pm to 2pm, join artist Lisa Sammut in conversation as part of the exhibition.
Curated by Hannah Presley and Annika Aitken.
