MSO Sidney Myer Free Concerts
For more than 90 years, Melbourne summers have been punctuated by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s annual free concert series. So pack a picnic, gather family and friends and enjoy music under the stars at the Bowl.
A fiery program of works by Debussy, Stravinsky and Australian composer Ross Edwards launches the series on 29 January.
On 6 February it's a celebration of movement in music including works by Rameau, de Falla, Bernstein and two contemporary Australian composers - Paul Stanhope and Joe Chindamo.
At the final concert on 10 February you can dance to Duke Ellington, enjoy sultry Spanish flair with Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G Major and a world premiere by Australian jazz composer Vanessa Perica that will send you swinging into the summer night.
