We Were Resilient is a historic series of images with text, presenting 365 pages during one year of COVID19.
Every page in chronological order has an image of a 100+ year old elm tree in Carlton, a brief written contribution from a large demographic of people, the changing lockdown rules and the daily COVID19 cases.
Each photograph signifies the passing of the seasons and every comment is an observation that the residents of Melbourne were resilient, resourceful, practical and emotional in ways never before experienced.
Margot Sharman is an established artist who has exhibited her photography and painting extensively.
